Bone Grafting/ Osseous Surgery

Dr. Rubin believes that you can save teeth, even if they are not perfect. We're not aiming for perfection, we're aiming to keep your natural teeth in your mouth as long as possible. Both gum disease and tooth loss can cause the bone that supports the teeth to weaken, increasing the risk of more problems down the line. With osseous surgery, Dr. Rubin can make repairs to this bone, and bone grafting enables her to strengthen certain parts of the jaw so they will be able to hold restorations firmly in place. She works on retaining your natural teeth, instead of replacing them with an artificial implant.

Scaling & Root Planing

Scaling and root planing is a two-step procedure that can help stop the progression of mild to moderate gum disease before it becomes too advanced. First, the accumulated bacteria and tartar near and beneath the gum line are removed (scaling), and then the roots of the teeth are smoothed (root planing). This helps the gums heal faster and reduces the chances of reinfection as well. With Dr. Rubin, this deep cleaning is performed using a soft tissue laser.

Chao Pinhole Surgery

Gum recession can cause your teeth to look unnaturally long and make you more likely to develop cavities and tooth loss, but Chao Pinhole Surgery can fix this problem and restore your appearance at the same time. Rather than replacing the receded tissue with a graft, a tiny hole is placed in the gums, and then it is lightly stretched and moved back into its original position. This procedure may be long and tedious, but it can be done in only one visit. It's also known to be one of the more comfortable recovery periods.

Cosmetic Gingivectomy

Do your teeth look short or out of proportion to your face because of excess gum tissue? Dr. Rubin can help with this issue using a cosmetic gingivectomy, in which she removes unneeded gum tissue, reveals more enamel to make the teeth appear longer and fuller, and gives your smile the perfect frame. Typically, this procedure can will be completed in 1-2 visits with the use of the periodontal laser, and the results are instant.

Extensive Training with Fearful Patients

Some of this ability comes naturally, but she also has completed extensive training learning how to calm people so they can get the care they need without stress. For her, your state of mind is just as important as your oral health, so she will always make sure you are OK before performing any treatment.
